What is Aromatherapy and how could it help you?

Aromatherapy is the careful and calculated selection, blending and application of essential oils to meet an individual’s needs and help address physical and emotional symptoms, usually through massage and/or inhalation.

A pleasant fragrance is a therapy in itself because of its profound effects - calming the nervous system and, in doing so, reducing pain and stress. By combining a gorgeous aroma with the nurturing bodywork of massage, the body, mind and spirit are offered the welcome chance to rest, let go, recharge and refresh.

In this way, aromatherapy can be effective in treating a wide range of disorders mostly associated with stress and tension, such as headaches, insomnia, digestive problems, back aches and muscular pain anywhere in the body. Professional aromatherapy is a safe complementary therapy for people of all ages and can give gentle relief for those with chronic or serious conditions such as arthritis, heart disease and cancer, without side effects.

Essential oils are made in the leaves of aromatic plants and then stored in a variety of places - in the flowers, leaves, fruit, seeds, roots or wood, depending on the plant. The essence of the plant, the essential oil, is then extracted in different ways and each has its own unique chemistry and character. This chemistry and character can calm, uplift, detoxify, de-stress and invigorate.

Uniquely, my tutor, Gabriel Mojay, discussed each essential oil in terms of its therapeutic affinity for specific bodily organs and their corresponding Meridians of vital energy as well as its ability to promote balance and yin-yang equilibrium.  Gabriel’s attractive and informative book, “Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit, Restoring Mental and Emotional Balance with Aromatherapy,” describes this
approach beautifully. It has been found that a subtle shift in mental and emotional balance can have a profound effect physically and essential oils work wonderfully at this deep level.

Because essential oils are so concentrated, they must always be diluted to be applied to the skin safely; for this, a carrier is used, often with its own healing for certain conditions. All my essential and carrier oils are either organic or wild crafted to ensure their premium quality and effect.

I match the unique healing properties of essential and carrier oils, to meet your specific requirements.
